Yeva Gladkaya was born on August 15, 1924, in the village of Baranovka, Zhitomor (Zhytomyr) region, Ukraine. She lived in the Baranovka ghetto from July 1941 to January 5, 1942. After she was moved to the Novograd-Volynskiy concentration/labor camp from February to November 1942. She later joined the partisans and served in a partisan detachment in Saburov’s brigade from November 1942 to July 1944. She moved to the Chicagoland area in 2001.
